Lets Look at Groomsmen Gifts

So you have a bunch of groomsmen with you on wedding day. You might have five, you might have one. You might even have ten. Despite the size, you will have to decide what groomsmen gifts to buy them.

I know friends who were in a wedding party where the bride and groom sent both parties to the beach for a weekend to relax and have fun. As I don’t have that kind of coin to throw down on my wedding party, I am put into a position that constricts my budget. However, I can still get my groomsmen something personal and nice on a tight budget.

For the record, I don’t advocate getting your groomsmen cufflinks and watches, which some websites recommend. Cell phones have a clock and cuffs have buttons. I am of the school of thought that a groomsmen gift should be something that they would use and enjoy. True, watches are nice, but I just don’t find them practical. You want to know the time? Look at your phone. That being said, it is also a good idea to get your groomsmen something that they’d remember.

Here are some ideas that I am contemplating for groomsmen gifts:

Signature Beer Mugs with Beverages of Choice:

- This is the idea that I am leaning towards at the moment. As my wedding party ranges from High School Senior to Post-College and from Drunk to Teetotaler, a mug works in many ways. For my drinking groomsmen, I am thinking about including a basket of signature beers from The Sharp Edge, a nice Belgian Beer restaurant and pub in Pittsburgh. For my underage and non-drinking groomsmen, I am contemplating including root beers, assorted sodas and other potential beverages.

Snuggies with Netflix/Xbox LIVE subscription

- I think the snuggie is the gift that keeps on giving. Yes, it has a stigma attached to it, but after having worn one, I can assure you that the snuggie is the real deal. And by "real deal," I mean pretty hilarious.  Not only is it a gag-gift, it’s something that I know most/all of my groomsmen will use. The Netflix and/or Xbox LIVE subscription is another nice touch that my groomsmen will use. The guys that don’t play video games could get Netflix and the ones that have Xbox’s can use the Xbox LIVE. I’m also considering giving my groomsmen an option of either.

Leatherman Tool

- Yes, it is a small device, but the Leatherman is a tool that does everything you need. For those who don’t know, the Leatherman tool is alsdkf;ja;sdlkfja;sldfkj. Considering that most of my groomsmen are “hands-on” type of guys, the Leatherman might be my fallback position.

Omaha Steaks

- None of my groomsmen are vegetarians, so getting them steaks is an idea that I am considering. Omaha Steaks is a site that I came across traversing the web.

Tickets to a sporting event

- In lieu of a bachelor party (which I am all for having), taking all the guys to a sports game is a good idea if you want all your groomsmen to bond and have a good time. Granted, you might have groomsmen that aren’t fans of the particular team, but it is a good idea nonetheless.

  1. Your groomsmen gift ideas are really great. Will have tickets to a sporting event. For my nephew’s wedding at one of local DC wedding venues. The groomsmen will definitely love this gift as men are very fond of sports.
